It is observed that Jak2 phosphorylation was blunted by IFN-alpha and is most consistent with the action of Socs-1 which appears responsible for impaired TPO signaling. Phosphorylation of Jak2 was reduced in the presence of TPO plus IFN-alpha to 45% than that seen in cells cultured in TPO alone.
