Indeed, insulin stimulates apoB/E receptor (LDL-receptor) activity and enhances LDL degradation via the LDL-receptor pathway. Insulin also plays an important role in HDL metabolism since it activates LCAT activity, it reduces PLTP activity and modulates the hepatic triglyceride lipase activity.
