Furthermore, testis-specific cytoplasmic poly(A) polymerase (Tpap), sperm outer dense fiber protein (RT7), heat shock protein Hsc70t, mitochondria capsule selenoprotein (Mcs aka Smcp), and phosphoglycerate kinase-2 (Pgk2), which are known to be expressed in spermiogenesis, were not significantly changed, except for a slight decrease of Mcs in the mutant testes. Intriguingly, expression levels of TP2 (Tnp2), Prm1, and Prm2 were drastically decreased and that of TP1(Tnp1) was slightly decreased in AF5q31 -/- testes."
